FAQs

The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change.

Carl R. Rodgers

Where are you licensed?

I can provide telehealth services to clients in Wisconsin, Minnesota, Michigan, Iowa, and Colorado. I will offer in person therapy services soon in Bayfield, Wisconsin.

Do you work with children?

I do! I work with children ages 3 and up. I work across the life span. Please reach out and we can see if telehealth is an option for your child. In person in Bayfield, Wisconsin will become an option in Spring 2025.

What should I expect in my first therapy session?

The first session is considered an intake and focuses on what brings you to therapy. We will talk about your expectations and goals in therapy. During this time you will start to develop an understanding of my approach. This is also a time to determine if you feel like working with me will be a good fit.

How do I prepare for telehealth?
  • Identify a location that is private and secure
  • Some clients like to have pen and paper to write notes
  • Grab some comfort items (water, tea, blanket, fidget, coloring items). This is a time to tend to your needs!
  • A fully charged device to meet on with stable internet access
Do you accept insurance?

I do accept many commercial, marketplace, Medicare, and Medicaid plans. Some of the insurances I am in network with at this time include:

Wisconsin: UMR, United, UBH, Chorus, Cigna, Aetna Commercial/ Medicare, Humana Medicare, Anthem BlueCross BlueShield, ICare, Centivo, Medica

Minnesota: UMR, United, UBH, Cigna, Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield (Commercial/ Medicaid/ Medicare), Humana Medicare, UCare, Centivo, Medica

Iowa: UMR, United, UBH, Cigna, Aetna, Centivo, Medica

Michigan: UMR, United, UBH, Cigna, Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield HMO and PPO, Humana Medicare

I also work with Spring Health and Lyra as an EAP provider.

Private pay and Out of Network Options

If I am out of network with your insurance provider, please reach out as I am always looking to increase service accessibility. If I cannot bill your insurance directly you can contact your insurance plan and see if out-of-network benefits are available. Depending on out-of-network coverage, I can provide a Superbill you can submit for service reimbursement.

About Me

I feel so fortunate to do this work! To be with another human is such a beautiful experience. Outside of therapy I love to spend time with my partner. I am an aunt and adore my nieces. I cherish the time I spend outdoors. Hiking and skiing (alpine and cross country) are my two favorite activities. My favorite tree is a red pine. I love seeing pine trees in winter. The green amongst the otherwise brown and grey landscape is stunning. In away, it is there time to shine! I do my best to bring the greenery indoors and spend time propagating my plants. I enjoy reading-all types of books. My favorite book is The Professor and the Madman: A Tale of Murder, Insanity, and the Making of The Oxford English Dictionary. So good! I love documentaries and watching a good movie. Breaking Bad and Parks and Rec are shows I can watch on repeat.
